California Ski Resorts see snow accumulation recordsSeasonal snow accumulation records were installed on some ski resorts including Squaw Valley, California U.S. off the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Mountain Resort on the south side of the lake, and Mammoth Mountain, a sprawling Eastern Sierra resort, which attracts the Southern California skiers and snowboarders.


Over 61 feet of snow fell in the 400-kilometer mountain of the Sierra Nevada this season, second only to the 1950-51 season, when a total of 65 feet, fell, according to records kept at the California Department of Transportation. Although spring has arrived, Sierra usually gets snow in April, bringing the prospect of all-time record.
